Sony's Soneium, Animoca Brands Bring Anime to Web3

Sony's Soneium blockchain and Animoca Brands have announced a collaboration aimed at bringing anime culture deeper into the Web3 space. This partnership focuses on integrating anime artwork and experiences into decentralized digital identities. Specifically, Animoca Brands' digital identity infrastructure platform, Moca Network, will be integrated into the Soneium blockchain, with a key focus on "Anime ID."

Anime ID, spearheaded by San FranTokyo, is a decentralized identifier and reputation layer designed to bridge traditional anime and manga culture with decentralized technologies. The collaboration will see Moca Network's Account, Identity and Reputation Software Development Kit (AIR SDK) integrated into Soneium. This integration will allow users to maintain embedded accounts with unique identities and credentials across various decentralized applications (dApps) on the network.

The initiative aims to enhance engagement among global anime and manga fans by providing them with a more seamless and unified Web3 experience. By creating a unified digital identity system, the partnership seeks to simplify the often complex navigation of the Web3 space for anime fans.

Furthermore, San FranTokyo and Animoca Brands will collaborate on anime-inspired cultural campaigns on Soneium, intending to onboard more anime enthusiasts to the blockchain and connect them with new anime-themed experiences. The first of these initiatives is planned to be an Anime Art Festival on Soneium, designed to showcase anime-focused intellectual properties, creators, and Web3 projects.

This partnership highlights the growing intersection of entertainment, particularly anime, and blockchain technology, with the goal of creating more immersive and interactive digital experiences for fans.
