Job Description

As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating, refining, and maintaining a variety of user assistance materials, including user interface labeling, user help guides, implementation and configuration documentation, and release notes. Your work will directly support clinicians, system administrators, and other Oracle employees in their daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality user assistance materials.
  • Develop, write, edit, and maintain user documentation that meets organizational and industry standards.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to peers regarding best practices in technical writing, documentation processes, and content development.
  • Participate in complex and highly visible documentation initiatives to enhance customer experience.
  • Conduct content reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure accuracy, clarity, and usability.
  • Analyze engineering projects and assess customer impact to define documentation requirements.
  • Engage with subject matter experts, testing teams, and end-users to refine documentation based on real-world application.
  • Manage the complete documentation lifecycle, from content creation to publishing and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all user assistance materials align with company security policies and industry best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of combined higher education and professional experience in technical writing, instructional design, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Instructional Design, or a relevant discipline.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems proactively, and adapt to fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Familiarity with information design principles and a keen interest in current trends and technologies in technical writing.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with content management systems (CMS), structured authoring tools, or single-source publishing.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations, standards, or technical documentation best practices.
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) writing and interface design considerations.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and the ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly content.
