As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and automating network management solutions. Your expertise in DevOps, automation, and networking will contribute to the success of IBM’s SDN initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Debug, design, and implement CI/CD pipelines to facilitate efficient Network Management System (NMS) development.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure seamless integration and testing of software components before release.
- Develop innovative automation frameworks to streamline QA processes and improve software reliability.
- Manage and maintain DevOps environments using tools like Jenkins, Git, and various automation frameworks.
- Work closely with software engineers to provide and maintain repositories for software artifacts via IBM TaaS Artifactory and SevOne.
- Evaluate, test, and validate software updates, bug fixes, and feature enhancements.
- Ensure product compliance with design specifications and continuously improve testing methodologies.
- Participate in engineering meetings and provide technical expertise on software automation, CI/CD best practices, and infrastructure management.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 7 to 12 years of experience in DevOps, automation, and software development.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using GitLab/GitHub CI, Python, PHP, Bash, JavaScript, and Groovy.
- Strong ability to read and interpret code, understanding the logic behind software designs.
- Extensive experience with Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and automation servers to streamline deployment processes.
- Deep expertise in GIT for source code version control and repository management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Linux (RHEL & Ubuntu), particularly in disk configuration, package management, and software updates.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to meeting project deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including load balancers, routers, call managers, and switches.
- Understanding of key networking protocols, such as routing, DNS, and SNMP.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments, handling networking and automation challenges.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and best practices.
