We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and support multiple mission-critical production databases for Dassault Systemes' BIOVIA ScienceCloud, an advanced online service for scientific research and innovation. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about database management, performance optimization, and ensuring high availability in a cloud-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Maintenance & Administration. Maintain and manage Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Production Support. Provide comprehensive support for production databases hosted on AWS, ensuring uptime and performance consistency.
- Performance Tuning & Optimization. Analyze and resolve database performance issues, optimizing queries, indexing, and resource allocation.
- Deployment & Change Management. Work collaboratively with the team to deploy updates, implement database changes, and provision new database services as required.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery. Manage Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and Pluggable Databases (PDBs) to ensure robust high-availability and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Backup & Recovery. Implement and maintain comprehensive backup strategies, leveraging Oracle's advanced recovery tools and adhering to strict RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) standards.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting. Continuously monitor database performance, identify potential issues, and proactively resolve problems to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Security & Compliance. Ensure databases are compliant with industry standards and organizational policies, including ISO-certified environments.
- On-Call & Shift Work. Provide 24x7 on-call support, including early morning or late-night shifts as required, and occasional weekend work.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong Knowledge of Oracle Database Architecture. In-depth understanding of Oracle internals, including instance management, storage structures, memory optimization, and security best practices.
- Cloud & AWS Experience. Hands-on experience managing Oracle databases in cloud environments, preferably AWS, including database migrations, scaling, and cloud-native solutions.
- Oracle RAC & High Availability. Expert-level proficiency in Oracle RAC setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Database Security & Encryption. Experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Pluggable Databases (PDBs), and other Oracle security mechanisms.
- Backup & Recovery Expertise. Proficiency in Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, Transportable Tablespaces, and advanced backup/recovery strategies.
- Performance Optimization. Strong skills in SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and Oracle performance diagnostics.
- Production Support Experience. A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing Oracle production databases.
- Communication Skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document processes, interact with stakeholders, and provide technical guidance.
- Fast Learner & Adaptability. Ability to quickly grasp and implement new technologies based on project requirements.
- ISO Compliance Experience (Preferred). Familiarity with working in ISO-certified environments is a plus.
