We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mainframe Developer with 4 to 6 years of experience in COBOL technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database queries, application support, and functional issue resolution while demonstrating expertise in software development processes. Key Responsibilities
- Participate in data migration projects, ensuring smooth and efficient transition while maintaining data integrity.
- Develop and optimize database queries and stored procedures to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Provide application support, troubleshooting functional issues, and ensuring system stability.
- Follow a structured software development life cycle (SDLC) with a process-oriented approach to maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless requirement gathering, system enhancements, and implementation.
- Work closely with customers and cross-location teams to maintain consistent and efficient project delivery.
- Conduct functional reviews and training sessions to facilitate knowledge sharing and enhance team capabilities.
- Identify and implement test strategies, test plans, and functional test cases to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
- Provide ongoing functional support and handle change requests as per business and operational needs.
- Adapt to different shifts, including both day and afternoon shifts, as per project requirements.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in data migration projects with an understanding of best practices and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong expertise in COBOL programming, including debugging, testing, and optimizing mainframe applications.
- Proficiency in working with database queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with functional application support, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with users for effective resolution.
- Exposure to Agile methodology, including use case-driven requirements gathering and feature-driven development.
- Experience in leasing domain fundamentals is a plus.
- Knowledge of test strategies, test planning, and functional testing techniques to ensure system robustness.
- Ability to collaborate with global teams and customers, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a flexible shift model, including day and afternoon shifts, based on project needs.
