Job Description

The Cloud Migration and Modernization Program is focused on establishing a robust shared services framework that provides architectural governance for workloads migrating to cloud environments. The program's primary goal is to ensure that cloud migration processes follow industry best practices while maintaining high standards of efficiency, security, and compliance across multiple cloud platforms.

Role & Responsibilities

Application Remediation & Cloud Migration

  • Identifying and implementing necessary changes to applications to ensure smooth migration to the cloud.
  • Collaborating with development and operations teams to address compatibility, security, and performance concerns.
  • Optimizing application architecture to leverage cloud-native features.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Development

  • Creating reusable, modular, and scalable infrastructure components using Terraform, Pulumi, and CDKs.
  • Automating provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring of cloud resources.
  • Establishing best practices for managing cloud infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment.

CI/CD Pipeline Design & Implementation

  • Developing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions.
  • Automating deployment workflows to streamline software releases while ensuring security and compliance.
  • Enhancing pipeline efficiency through monitoring, logging, and automated rollback mechanisms.

Automation & Operational Efficiency

  • Eliminating manual processes through scripting and automation tools.
  • Implementing self-healing mechanisms and proactive monitoring strategies.
  • Leveraging AI-powered tools for predictive maintenance and performance optimization.

Troubleshooting & Support

  • Diagnosing and resolving application and infrastructure-related issues.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
  • Providing on-demand support for critical production workloads.

Security & Compliance

  • Identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities in cloud-based environments.
  • Integrating DevSecOps principles to enforce secure coding, scanning, and policy enforcement.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and cloud governance policies.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintaining up-to-date project documentation, infrastructure blueprints, and best practice guides.
  • Conducting knowledge-sharing sessions and mentoring junior engineers.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or a similar role.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in a production environment.
  • Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform, Pulumi, and CDKs.
  • Experience in designing and managing scalable cloud infrastructures.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking, security, and cost optimization strategies.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience in DevSecOps and integrating security into CI/CD workflows.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools for automating DevOps processes.
  • Previous experience with large-scale cloud migration and modernization projects.
  • Understanding of Platform Engineering principles and best practices.
