Job Description

As a part of the Global Servicing Group (GSG) Technology team, you will play a crucial role in developing data engineering pipelines that deliver strategic business metrics related to Credit, Servicing, Fraud, and Collections. Our team is responsible for consuming data from multiple internal sources, refining and transforming it to build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that apply complex business logic.

Beyond data processing, we implement machine learning techniques to assess customer satisfaction scores and prepare data for Voice of Customer surveys (VOCM), helping us enhance service experiences. Our team is currently on a transformative journey, migrating data engineering processes from an enterprise cloud data warehouse (Cornerstone) to Google Cloud-based LUMI, with the goal of enabling Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate Cross-Functionally. Work with business stakeholders, product teams, and technology groups to ensure seamless data delivery.
  2. Data Processing & Engineering. Design, code, and document large-scale data pipelines to facilitate efficient data access and processing.
  3. Maintain Data Integrity. Develop validation and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  4. Cloud-Based Data Solutions. Leverage cloud technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build, optimize, and scale data engineering solutions.
  5. Big Data Processing. Utilize technologies like PySpark, Spark, Scala, Hive, and SQL for large-scale data transformations.
  6. API Development & Management. Design and maintain APIs that enable smooth data access and integration into various products.
  7. ETL Development & Optimization. Build robust ETL pipelines, ensuring seamless extraction, transformation, and loading of data from multiple sources.
  8. CI/CD & Automation. Implement Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) strategies to streamline data workflows.
  9. Data Governance & Security. Work closely with governance teams to define and map data while ensuring compliance with data security regulations.
  10. Visualization & Reporting. Develop interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  11. Production Support. Coordinate support efforts to ensure smooth operations of data engineering solutions in a production environment.

What You Need to Succeed

  1. Education & Experience. A degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and big data platforms.
  2. Big Data & Cloud Expertise. Strong experience in Hadoop, Kafka, PySpark, Hive, and BigQuery, with a solid understanding of cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  3. Programming Proficiency. Strong skills in Python, Java, Scala, and SQL, with expertise in Unix shell scripting.
  4. ETL & Data Modeling. In-depth knowledge of ETL processes, data modeling, and data pipeline development.
  5. Database Experience. Hands-on experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
  6. AI/ML Fundamentals. Basic knowledge of AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and mlpack to support data engineering initiatives.
  7. Banking & Financial Data Knowledge. Familiarity with banking data structures, security practices, and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) regulations.
  8. Application Security & Architecture. Experience designing applications with security best practices, encryption techniques, and modern frameworks such as React or Java.
