What You Will Do
- Deploying, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat OpenStack and Mirantis OpenStack environments in production and development settings.
- Managing core OpenStack components, including Nova, Neutron, Glance, Keystone, Cinder, Horizon, and others.
- Designing and implementing cloud solutions that prioritize high availability, scalability, and security.
- Collaborating with development and operations teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing infrastructure.
- Performing system upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting OpenStack-related issues.
- Automating infrastructure management using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or other configuration management solutions.
- Monitoring OpenStack components to ensure system health, performance, and efficiency.
- Addressing security vulnerabilities and implementing best practices to enhance system security.
- Documenting operational procedures, deployment strategies, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on OpenStack best practices and cloud architecture.
- Assisting in capacity planning, load balancing, and disaster recovery strategies to enhance system resilience.
The Skills You Bring
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience working with Red Hat OpenStack or Mirantis OpenStack, including deployment, management, and troubleshooting.
- Deep understanding of OpenStack components such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, and more.
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu, and related system administration tools.
- Familiarity with cloud orchestration tools like Heat, OpenStack CLI, and Horizon.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Proficiency in monitoring, logging, and performance analysis tools to ensure optimal system operations.
- Solid grasp of networking concepts, including VLANs, SDN, and virtual networks.
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex system issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong focus on delivering quality solutions.
