If you compare features advancements tooling MS SQL Server is a better choice. But you need to pay thousands of dollars each year in licensing. Its not like you should use one over another. You are simply saying PostgreSQL is better than MSSQL  this is incorrect. Both can be installed on any OS.MSSQL has many advanced options such as compression partitioning and optimized storage. Its data management – requiring minimal troubleshooting and with data recovery support in case of data corruption – are very useful. The main difference is the licensing and support costs. For MSSQL the licensing and support costs are discouraging for the e-commerce users . The advanced features tend to be very expensive. PostgreSQL is an open-source RDBMS. There is no licensing cost for owning and upgrading it.
