Why isn't there a C# designer mode anymore?

Hi I did a search & didn't readily find another answer & please forgive if this has been beaten to death.. I'm curious to know what the rationale was behind the decision NOT to provide a Designer mode when developing pages in Blazor web? Kind thanks Rich

From one old-timer to another internet applications are a mess. The original design of HTML and HTTP was very simple compared to how they are being used now. They were not designed (initally) to support applications in the manner that desktop applictions do. Blazor WebAssembly executes in the browser but functions in a manner equivalent to server-side processing. Server-side processing such as ASP.Net and PHP use something called CGI (modified for performance but the features are functionally equivalent) that was designed to process HTML forms not to support applications. The viewing (including previewing) of Blazor pages require that the page be executed. That is generally not true of desktop UI pages (forms). It is frustrating for me that they do not support a designer mode I think they could when possible but the complications might be too great.

Code mode gives designig pages more authority to control various elements or componets of web applications. Designer mode is just a headche especially for web application development might work in WPF apps even Android native don't support or encouage to support designer mode. The main reason what I think is that for web apps designer mode shown different view than the actual render html page. Normally browser specific tools are use to look into page related design issues.

ok I understand the control aspect vs GUI design.. it's been like that since early on.. I guess there's maybe just a different mindset with some of us old dinosours.. It feels quicer & easier to me to drag & drop controls/elements onto a form then pop into code to tweak.. Oh well it is what it is I guess. Thanks for the reply ~Rich
