Where is IIS

Question

I am trying to get started on ASP. I open a new solution called mySolution in my C#project file. Thus I have a file at C#projects/mySolution When in the solution I click on mySolution and choose new project I get the project window and choose "ASP Web Application" I now get several error messages this last on says there is no web service at http://localhost/C#project/mySolution.

Where is my IIS??

Yes, as what shaurabh said... or you can reinstall or perhaps repair your vs .net after installing the iis...

Hi !! u have installed .Net prior to IIS. now what next is to be done is registering ure IIS with the asp.net. For that u will go to the command of the .Net framework and issue the following command: aspnet_regiis.exe -i the file is located at the following location: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\ V\ aspnet_regiis.exe V: v1.1 V: v1.0 or V = v2.0 just replace V with the version number folder that is located at the above path. Thanks for the advice. I did as instructed but still not there yet. When I try to add my web application I get the message. "Web server not running ASP.NET v1.1...." I need to get an update or something. The needed version surely is on my VS discs. Please advise.

Okay... I assume you're using windows xp... if thats the case you have to install it first... here are the steps: Control panel ---> add remove programs ---> add/remove windows components ---> install iis... you need your windows exp cd to install iis... after you have isntalled it... you can create your asp .net project in your system (c:/) drive, under the inetpub/wwwroot/ folder... hope this helps....
