To help it find these resources we give it an address called a region. Think of a region like a neighborhood. Just like how your house is in a specific neighborhood the resources that CodeDeploy needs are in a specific region. So when we use CodeDeploy we need to make sure that we tell it which neighborhood to go to. Now the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) or Software Development Kit (SDK) is a tool that we use to talk to AWS and tell it what to do. But sometimes we might forget to tell the CLI or SDK which neighborhood we want to use. So to make sure that the CLI or SDK knows which neighborhood to use we need to check that the region we've told it to use is the same as the neighborhood where our CodeDeploy application and deployment group are located. If they're not in the same neighborhood CodeDeploy won't be able to find the resources it needs and the deployment won't work.
