What is Cloud Computing?

Hi, I want to know what is cloud computing?

'Cloud computing' means computing where a remote server delivers software as a service and also stores the user's data in relation to that software. Access to the remote server is normally over the internet and so all the user's machine needs is a browser. The idea is to relieve the user of the need to buy, install and upgrade software (the server always runs the latest version) and to store his/her data securely in 'the cloud'. Instead, the user pays the service provider on a subscription and/or usage basis. Another advantage is that the user can easily access his/her data on the move from any device which has a browser such as a smartphone, tablet computer or netbook. The disadvantages are that the software may not run as quickly, and not have as many features, as desktop software and the user sacrifices control of his/her data to the service provider which therefore needs to be a trusted institution.
