All contributors have really explained your answer Nandini. I just would like to add few more points over here that arrays have fixed size because of this they give better performance. So If size of your collection is not fixed you must use List. Else array is best choice. Sometimes people have generic list then they convert it to array before processing. For that you can easily use list.ToArray();
