What control needed for Document viewer

Hello

I am trying to develop a document reader/viewer - the documents are scanned and are of tiff, bmp , gif file format. I need to know what toolbox control I need to display tiff ,ect... file format. is there a such a thing as mspaint control so i can display the image? I have seen some document magagement system that looks like they are using MSPaint.? your help is really appreciated. Many thanks.

I am rather new to C# and have successfully done what you are trying to do, using the picturebox control. You just have to feed the picturebox with a string variable that contains the file name: pictureBox1.Image = Image.FromFile(myfilename); where you first set the string myfilename to something. For example, to the file that was selected from a list box.

Thankyou. i did try to use PictureBox control but the only way i could display the image or text is typing pic ShowPicture.Image = Image.FromFile("c:\doucument	emp1"); I want to display unspecified file depending on what is selected from the listbox -listbox contains the name of the files in a specific directory on the hardrive "c:\document"\*.tiff. I now know what other document viewer use to display document its the MicroSoft Office Document imaging Application.. another words MODI. I have embedded the MODI Object Component to my Form by adding COM and chosed MODI. How do I display image/ documents clicked from selected file in the list box onto MODI (MicroSoft Office Document imaging) Your help is appreciated Many Thanks

I think maybe you should use the picturebox control. For some text or other formatted documents, you might need to convert the content of the files into a image and draw it onto the surface of a graphic. After that, it is the time to assign the graphic to the picturebox and display it there. Hope this helps.
