A story point in Agile, particularly Scrum, is a logical measurement unit. Scrum needs story point assigned to each work item (called a user story) by the scrum team iteself - this means there is no standard measurement or no standard conversion to story points from another units of measurement. A scrum team will decide what story points they want to allocate to a user story, collectively all story points of all user stories in current sprint will be the team'svelocity. Usually when teams start implementing Scrum for the first time, they have some misconceptions and they consider one hour of work or one day of work equal to one story point. But as teams mature, after several sprints, they come to find their own way to allocate story points to a user story - based on its complexity - i.e. not amount of work to be done in man hours or person days.
