Webform does not now work when convert from #C language to VB

Question

Please find attached file showing main code for UserWebControl and ASPX page. It is used for display sliding images in a ASP.NET Datalist control. I downloaded file from a website.

The count property is correct, but now you mention it, i cannot get a return value from the AppendFormat ? which is needed for following code. It returns undefined all the time?

I did get it to convert eventually by changing syntax code later with double quotes. When operating it worked as planned only when i amended page to include own elements like labels and a Div it would not work? I think it is because the width is larger now since i added labels inside a div container so the javascript calculation divWidth is incorrect. Before Datalist only contained a Image which was same size for all items so the row size easily calculated using formula _Items.Count * (_ImageWidth + 1). How do you change the javascript code to calculate the total row size of Datalist now that i have a lable inside a div whos text value is of different length?
