Using react.js with php and php frameworks

Question

Hi

I've worked with php and now looking at using a framework like codeignitor. I also want to have an interactive front-end so I'm considering react.js which is the View of the MVC.

As I'm using the View aspect through React can I still use frameworks such as codeignitor which already has a view as its based on MVC?

Is there much point using codeignitor if I'm going to be using React?

You can populate default states in your react code using PHP. The best way to use PHP as backend with React Js as the front end is to keep both separate. Make a stand-alone front-end and use PHP to create APIs which interact with the database.

Yes, you can work with CodeIgniter using React . The .php view files could not be replaced with .js files of the react app as the server is Apache . The PHP view files do not need to be replaced with js files. JavaScript can easily be added to PHP files using tags.
