URI formats are not supported

Question

I am trying to open pdf file using folowing code.

if (extension == ".pdf")
{

                 context.Response.AddHeader("Content-Type", "application/pdf");
  FileStream fs = new FileStream(path, FileMode.Open);
            }

but it throws an exception "URI formats are not supported"
I have checked path,path is correct & file also availabe.

Instead of it just give the link to pdf file your browser will open the file.

In that case, you can't use FileStream. I'd try the following instead: System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(path); I'm assuming here that you just want to view the file and that Adobe Acrobat reader is installed on the machine.

yes I have set path using variable like this path= "http://www.allinaudio.com/" + li.CommandArgument.ToString(); li.CommandArgument.ToString() is values from databse.

It sounds like your path variable is in URI format, possibly preceded by file:// or something similar. Can you post what 'path' contains please.
