Upload file and save it in Server location

Question

Hi there, I need to upload files and then save those files in server location,by using server path.While doing this i can't use php or something.Pure javaScript or ajax i need to use. I referred some sites in those sites they used server side code like php.I need to write javascript code for this,How can i do this?

If path given as an example is the real path you are copying file to, it is not a good choice. I suggest you assign a separate custom folder, preferably on drive other than C:\ if possible. If you continue to get errors, make sure the account in whose context your web-site is running has full control permissions granted on that folder. Typically, that account is IUSR_[computer_name]

Hi @Ayesha, I agree with Nitin Sir. 403 Forbidden is a server-generated response and it might possible that there may be permission issue on your file(though i'm not sure).

Hi Rajneesh, Thank yo for the suggestion,I gave server path ex:(C:\Users\Public\Pictures).After clicking on upload,file is not getting copied.It is throwing error in debugger like POST /IMS/File%20Uploads/ 403 (Forbidden)

Hi @Ayesha, You can simple use the html form to post your file to the server(without even using javascript) //An Example would be like this: "/abc/xyz/" method= "post" enctype= "multipart/form-data" > "file" name= "filename" /> "submit" value= "Upload" />

Yes sir, Our app running there,in that only we are having service,so we are trying by that.File is getting copied,but content we need to check.

Aha! That explains. For security reasons, you never be able to access the client user's machine. To do something like this, you would need some app running on client machine itself which would (potentially) have a full access to the machine. Typically, file to be sent to client is just kept for download. Where to store it is user's look out, not yours. Furthermore, the user should have that freedom of choice.

Hi Nitin sir, Wherever i want to copy that file,server is not allowing me,because that is client side machine. So in our tool cordys we are having one service to copy file in server,Iam trying from that service.
