Unable to open .aspx

Question

i'm first time create the ASP web application with using the C#... i can compile and run it... but when i try to open the .aspx from browser without VS.. i encounter error

This page contains the following errors:

error on line 1 at column 2: StartTag: invalid element name 

Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

i understand i need to setup the IIS, but can anyone tell me step by step how to do it?

right click and select properties, select documents and add your application default first page name if it is not there now say ok and browse it. reset iis from command prompt. type iisreset in run window.

where is " again select documents and add the default first page name if it is not there "... i try to recreate the virtual path...now i open my browser type http://localhost/test/test.aspx it also have error Server Application Unavailable The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur. can i know where is the event log for this?

right click and select properties,click on asp.net tab and select asp.net version from combobox.say ok and again select documents and add the default first page name if it is not there now say ok and browse it.

i follow your instructions, but when i right click and choose Browse, nothing is coming out...

goto iis-->right click on deafult website-->new-->virual directory-->Next-->give any name as alias-->browse ur application from ur local drive-->next-->finish.Now your application is set up in iis. click on the application which is set up jus now under default website then you can see all your pages. right click on ur login page or which ever is your page and give browse.
