Hi Ruba, Your controller method returning single product record but your View expecting List . You need to change either in conttroller method return or View. Both place it should be same. If you need display single product in view then need to change in View, Incase you need to display list of product in view then you need to return List of product from controller method.

It simply means the model you are passing is from view to controller is a simple object (ex:- Product) but you need to pass a collection of Product (ex;- List ) This means instead of below code public ActionResult YourAction() { var obj= new Product(){Name= "P1" }; return View(obj); } @model ProjectName.Product @Model.Name your code should be public ActionResult YourAction() { var obj= new List (){ new Product(){Name= "P1" }, new Product(){Name= "p1" }}; return View(obj); } //view @model IEnumerable @ foreach (var item in Model) { @item.Name }

The problem is in you controller action which passes a list instance to a view which is not possible for System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable`1[WebApplication28.Models.Product]'. Your Controller Action is public ActionResult pro() { List product = ... return View(product); } Instead of that controller action you can use this code, @model List () { new Product () {name = "product 1" } }, new Product () {name = "product 2" } } return view(Product) // View should like this// Private @Html.Partial( "_MyPartial" )

The problem is that the Layout the View is using expects a model and you are passing it a different ..[] (notice that this is done implicitly when you use return View(model)). Normally, since the Layout is used through multiple Views, the Layout does not declare a @model. Removing the @model from the Layout will solve your problem. If you have declared a model in layout while testing something, change the model of the partial it started failing.
