You are not seeing this but you ran the query twice which created the database and table , so second time it is giving you the error. use this DROP DATABASE why ; create database why ; use why; go; create table items( iid int identity(1,1) primary key, name varchar(250) not null , category varchar(250) not null , price bigint not null ); select * from items

The errors are quite clear. You have already a database 'why' and object 'items'. You can check in you SQL server management studio after refreshing.

The Reason for the Error may be you have created the 'why' database twice which already has an object 'items'. So, the Error is diaplaying as database 'why' and object 'item' already exits. You can drop the existed database and then create the new database (or) you can use the existed database itself. To Drop the existed Database: Drop Database why; To Use existed database: use why; select * from items;

Hi, Please use this one, As per your shared snippet database alreary created. Your are using master as db so first you need to change your database to Why, so use below script, your problem will be resolved. use why; select * from items

There are acutally two errors it is showing. First, why database exists and second is items table already exists. So both database as well as table exists and you are trying to create it again and due to that reason it is throwing error. In the object explorer, i can able to see why database and if you open the database then you can able to see tables also. This is not an error actually. If you don't want those database and tables then simply drop them and re-create it. Thanks.
