taking lot of time for response MVC.net web API

I have using mvc.net api. I have created one API for registration. In this registration API i have inserting one record in database and sending the 2 email.
and in response i have returning status true or false and one small message string.
but it taking lot of time for response. how can i reduce that response time.
Kindly help.
