Question

I want to insert into two tables from one table based on vlaue on sourcestring value as per type, like if 'protection' then in protection table else in 'configuration' table

You can write a stored procedure with cursor and if condition. I won’t recommend doing this with query. Later you can enhance the procedure to add more logic or include transaction support and exception handling.

Better is to automate the thing. Create an afterInsert trigger on your StringTranslation table. noramally also possible if use stored procedure then its better . if you want stored procedure program then comment in down then i wiil help you.

Hi Jayu, I would suggest, You should go with Store procedure. If you go with Inline query then you need to do code change every time and need to deploy your code for minor change as well.
