SP2016 hive folder structure 15 or 16?

I have installed the sharepoint 2016 in multiple server farm with min role... there I could see the 14 and 16 hive farm n nowhere I see the 15 hive... But if we browse any site settings pages it points to 15 hive layout folder... what is so??? Is it default behavior of sharepoint 2016???
