Show and Hide the Div in Content Page of Master Page

Question

Hello,

I've a div and a link. And i want to show the div if the it's not visible and hide the div if it's shown. It's working fine in Normal web page but not working in Content Page of Master Page

I've just copied and pasted your code into my page and it works fine (after I applied the changes I mentioned previously). In a normal page the becomes therefore your javascript will always find an error because there is no such control on the HTML as divChangePassword any more. If you change the javascript to onclick ="showDiv('ctl00_PageContent_divChangePassword');" then it works fine. In the Master page the ID becomes ctl00_divChangePassword so changing your javascript to onclick="showDiv('ctl00_divChangePassword');" will make it work. Give it another go and let me know...

I've set the runat="server" in div because i've to perform some operation(s) in div. But on the other hand, i use this piece of code in Normal web page(Not in Master Page) is working fine but not working in Content Page of Master Page

That is because your div control is runat="server" but your javascript is client side. Therefor the ID you pass on the client script ( 'divChangePassword' ) is not the same as the ID that the div has once the server has generated it. It will now be something like ctl00$....$divChangePassword I suspect. Look at your source code and you will see that the HTML generated code is not what you expect.

I've seen the ids and they are same here i'm sending my code. Please have a look and put the code in your normal page and once put it on a Content Page of Master Page. Then you can understand my probs. i would suggest you to see the div id in html source. make sure that both ids are same in code and html source.
