Show 5 more records when click show more link in MVC.

Question

I am working a mvc project where i had a grid with show more link. Initially 5 records must be displayed when click show more link the another more 5 records must be loaded from database and display 10 records. and then 15,20 vice versa.. any one suggest me a good model. i need to fetch 5 record and display in view and then 5 record and display in view as 10 record without load (Initialy loaded) previous 5 record again with new one

Hey if you are using OFFSET then set offset value 0(Zero) always and increase the NEXT value. Ex : On your page load it will fetch data from the below query. SELECT * FROM users ORDER BY OrderId OFFSET 0 ROWS FETCH NEXT 5 ROWS ONLY ; then when you click on See More Events then use below code SELECT * FROM users ORDER BY OrderId OFFSET 0 ROWS FETCH NEXT 10 ROWS ONLY ; Remember always increase the NEXT value when you click on See More.. But in this process every time you have to hit the server. For this you can store all data to datatable and then use Skip() AND Take() properties of datatable. Ex: DataTable dtData = GetAllDataFromDb(); GridView1.DataSource = dtData.AsEnumerable().Skip(0).Take(5).ToArray(); GridView1.DataBind(); then when you click on See More Events just increase the Take() value. GridView1.DataSource = dtData.AsEnumerable().Skip(0).Take(10).ToArray(); GridView1.DataBind();

Hi, the problem can be solve using the limit and offset in database side here I will give you demo query you can refer that and solve your problem. SELECT * FROM users ORDER BY createddate OFFSET 5 ROWS FETCH NEXT 5 ROWS ONLY; this query will fetch records from 5 to 10. You can make a stored proc of the query and give the parameters as you want such as if you want to fetch first 5 records then make offset 0 and next will be 5 it will fetch first five records. Now you have to provide the value of offset as 5 and next will also 5 it will fetch records from 5 to 10 and so on. I hope it will help you.

@DEVENDRA MILMILE , when we use pagination , the new records only display. For example when we click 2nd page the content in 1st page will cleared only display 2nd page content but i need both 1st and 2nd page content

sir, Your answer is ok but i want previous 5 records also..i need to append newly fetched 5 records with old 5 records without refreshing old one. like lazy loading.. In below image when i click see more upcoming events ,i can fetch another 3 datas from database but i want to append with old 3 records so result could be 6 records
