Q2)How to add a new WFE server to the existing SharePoint 2013 server farm? Q3)Can you please explain the SharePoint Migration stages in detail (Pre-migration and Post-migration activity) (2010 or 2007 to 2013)? Q4)Where will u configure the block of cache? Q2)How to add a new WFE server to the existing SharePoint 2013 server farm? A2) I belived this is similar to earlier installation steps we just scaling up the WFE instead of creating a new farm we need to select existing farm. A3) Before addressing your query i need some explaination what kind of migration u going to perform Tool a. Tool Based (Third Party Tools) b. Content DB Backup and Restore c. Migration with data and functionalites. i will hold a reply for this alone will discuss on this part later. Q4)Where will u configure the block of cache? (Distributed cache server) A4) The block of cache will be configured during the installation by default.This is happening completely based on the system memory except the reserved memory the remaing can be used for cache. Update the cache size can be done using Ps. Hi Bhushana , Q3)Can you please explain the SharePoint Migration stages in detail (Pre-migration and Post-migration activity) (2010 or 2007 to 2013)? A3) Third Party Tool - Can you please specify the tool name as well. I will specify the general approach as follows. Premigration : Identify the volume of site collections. Identify the customisation are embeed to the site collections ( Event Receivers, TimerJobs, Custom Master Page, Custom Site and List Templates , Custom Pages). Identify any business logic or any custom forms attached (IP Farm , Desinger or any other third party workflows). Identify the total list and library and individual count analysis of respective sharepoint objects. Postmigration : Logo needs to be fix. Need to create custom views and indexed columns for large library. Rebuild the IP Farm and business logic workflows from scratch. Rebuild the Custom Pages and re-deploy the custom solutions to new environment. Ensure the source and target environment count matches. Ensure the custom permission and permission level are restored. These are the common pre and post migration activities which we need to follow. Hope this would helps if yes > .
