Running background app and foreground app together

I am very stressed and I am stuck. My friend did his backgroundtask codes and i am supposed to use his code and run it with a display on the raspberry pi touchscreen. My problem is all the background process I googled gave me one with triggers and all i need is one that is constantly running. I really stressed and have no where to turn to. Please help me
