Ribbon Control

Question

Hi, I'm new to WPF. Is there a way to use the ribbon control to create a MDI application?? Is there a way to open a window with in the main window itself as if in MDI Forms?? Thanks in advance, Zehan

When i meant ribbon control i meant the ribbon itself. Sorry about that.. What i want to do is that i want to open up a window when i click a ribbon button and open the window within the main window as if in MDI Forms. Is it possible??

A RibbonControl is a container for controls in a ribbon. Is there something in particular that you are concerned that a RibbonControl specifically cannot do that would be a problem? I will tell you what you shoiuld be concerned about. MDI means Multiple Document Interface ; it is not designed for making multiple windows. It provides a window for each one of multiple documents, and the documents are typically all the same class; in other words, all objects of the same class. MDI is often used for multiple child windows because it appears to be the easiest way to do that, but then beginner developers have difficulty doing things that would be easier to do using other solutions. In Visual Studio, open a form in the designer and then look at the toolbox. Open the "Containers" node and look at the containers there. I confess that I am not familiar with all of them. Also Windows Forms seem to be missing many types of windows that Windows offers.
