Read Doc Files Using C#

Question

Hi,

I want to read a word document from my system (both doc and docx).

The server(application hosted machine) does not have office installed, therefore i can't use com objects .

Is there a way to read the word docs (2003 and 2007)

Hi, you can easily read docx (word 2007) files with this C# Word component. Here is a sample how to C# read Word file: // Load a document. Yes, you can do that with VSTO in Visual Studio. VSTO is Visual Studio Tools for Office and enables you to create different types of projects based on Microsoft Office 2003 and the 2007 Microsoft Office system. Using this, you can manipulate Word/Excel/Outlook files.
