Hi, Properties are smart fields. Smart being you can add logic when you want to get or set the value. Usage example: if you want to validate the values being set to a property or if you want to combine values from different fields without exposing those fields to the public. The purpose of properties is to control access to fields by validating the values to which they're set and performing any subsidiary calculations needed. For this reason, properties are sometimes called 'smart fields'. In other object oriented languages such as C++ and Java, it's considered good practice to do these things by writing separate 'get' and 'set' methods. In C# the 'get' and 'set' are tied together into a single property which is used in such a way that the syntax is similar to accessing the field directly.
