Problem in converting c# .net project file into exe file or setup file..

Question

Hi

I have created the setup file for my project.. if i installed the software in my

system means there is no problem.. but if install in any other system means I am

getting problem.. I am getting error message"This encountered a problem u need to

close the application"

Can anybody tell me the proper conversion procedure?

I sure think there is no need to clear the event log, especially if you don't understand what the event log is. Clearing the event log might cause you to lose valuable information. Please do include here all messages you receive, especially any messages that would explain what the problem is. Also, the problem might not occur in the setup; does the problem occur when your program executes after it is installed? If so, then the problem is probably that there is an error in your program that your program is ignoring. You need to do things such as use try/catch blocks to catch errors so you know about problems. If your program ignores errors, then the system will likely encounter catastorphic errors such as what you are getting that the system cannot recover from so there is nothing the system can do except terminate the program.

I am sorry ila, but there is insufficient information about the problem. Raaj said to check to ensure that everything the program needs is installed, and theLizard said something similar. You need to determine what the program is trying to do that it cannot. Without knowing that, we cannot help.

If it installs on your system without any problem then your system has what the other systems do not, your job is to find out what that is. Sam is correct, you need to ensure that you trap the errors as they occur so that you can identify the missing pieces a missing piece may also be a permission to install under the users profile. until you know where in the program the failure occurs, you are chasing your tail.

1. Right-Click MyComputer --> Manage . A window will appear named Computer Management . 2. Here select Event Viewer under the System Tools and expand it. You will see items like Application, Internet Explorer 3. Select Application and from Right Side Pane you will see the list of log entries. For more details double-click on the event entry 4. Before installing your application, clear the log files by Right Clicking on the Application node and Select Clear All Events . 5. Now try installing and again check the event log as mentioned .
