Pass GridView data over to another page.

Question

Hi, I have a question. I have a gridview that I want to send everything to another page. However, instead of making use of any checkbox, hyperlink etc, I plan to just use 1 button that is outside the gridview and send all the data over. I have seen a couple of guides of sending data over to another page, but is either making use of checkbox, or just sending 1 row of data over. I have also tried using things likes session and query string but it did not worked out well/ not too sure what to put in the code. Hence I do need some help. Currently, my gridview is on boundfield, not on label, so do take note of that.

Alternatively, you can save dataset into session and bind from session into grid into another page if you don't want to do database query. Regards Rijwan

when you want to send everything to another page then why do you need to use anything , just use the same datasource everywhere. For example suppose you have binded the grid from database then create a method to return List/DataSet so that you could use same source anywhere. step 1. Create a class library project in your solution name it as DataAccess. Step 2. Create a class name it as DAL. Step 3. create a method as shown below. public DataSet Get() { using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection( "Data Source=SACHIN-PC\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=Test;Integrated Security=True" )) { // Create an instance of SqlDataAdapter. Spcify the command and the connection SqlDataAdapter dataAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter( "select * from tableName" , con); // Create an instance of DataSet, which is an in-memory datastore for storing tables DataSet ds = new DataSet(); // Call the Fill() methods, which automatically opens the connection, executes the command // and fills the dataset with data, and finally closes the connection. dataAdapter.Fill(ds); return ds; } Step 5. Give reference of DataAccess project to your Web Form project (Right click on reference---> add reference ----> Project (on left pane)---> check the DataAccess project) step 6. By the way, I forget to mention, on the second page, the data will be filled into another gridview. So do take note.
