Object Oriented in Database applications

Question

Hi All,
I am trying to start a windows based database application with C# and SQL server. I am aware about the OOPs concepts in C# but I am unable to think of how I can bridge those concepts to my application development. Please advise ,,,,

tnx Ravi...I mean each table entries can be defined as an object ( say Customer in tblCustomer) and then write methods for that class for each add , delete , edit entries ...? Rather coding with usual opening connection adding data and closing the connection (like in normal structured language) . Is it the general practice ? Please advice...

There is no definition explain for edit, delete operation in oops concept. and edit ,update is a task. which can perform using oops concept.

Thanks Ravi...defining the connection as a class file and use it in every form with out re writing the same code is clear for me. But what about the add, edit records to the tables ? Can we think any solution through OOPs ?

Oops is a theoratical concept but when you make your application in .net or any oops standerd language. you will see your code reuse, Inheritance etc. for example, we have a common class file and a method below... public bool ConnectToDatabase() { try { if (sqlCon.State == ConnectionState.Closed) { GstrConnectionString = "Data Source=" + DATASOURCE + " ; Initial Catalog= " + DATABASE + ";User ID=" + dbUSER + "; Password= " + PASSWORD; sqlCon.ConnectionString = GstrConnectionString; sqlCon.Open(); return true; } else { return true; } } catch (Exception ex) { return false; } } we can call above method from any page/form easily. I mean to say that there is no need to write code for database connectivity on every page. we can make these one in a common class file.and call on any page easily. Regards, ravi
