You've got a few options for MS developer certifications depending on whether you want to work with .NET 1.1, 2.0 or 3.5. Note that MCAD only applies to .NET 1.0/1.1, if you want .NET 2.0 or 3.5 then you need to do an MCTS. .NET 1.1/1.0 For MCAD you need to study for 3 exams made up of 2 core exams and 1 elective. The first core exam is chosen from a pool of four: Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Developing and Implementing Windows based Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Developing and Implementing Windows based Applications with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET The second core exam is either Developing XML Web Services and Server Components with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework or Developing XML Web Services and Server Components with Microsoft C# .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework Then you can pick a third elective exam from a selection based on various different MS technologies. You can also upgrade to the MCSD by doing both a Web AND Windows based exam mentioned above and an additional exam called Analyzing Requirements and Defining Microsoft .NET Solution Architectures. .NET 2.0 There's no MCAD but instead you study for a MCTS (MS Certified Technology Specialist). There's a core exam TS: Microsoft .NET Framework – Application Development Foundation (70-536) and then you do a second exam which will dictate what MCTS you'll get. You can choose from Web Applications, Windows Applications and Distributed Applications. As with the MCAD there's an upgrade option to an MCPD (MS Certified Professional Developer) that involves taking one extra exam to give you a Web Developer or Windows Developer qualification. There's also an Enterprise Applications Developer qualification that involves you gaining all three MCTS qualifications plus the extra exam, obviously you only need to do 70-536 once. .NET 3.5 It's the same structure as with .NET 2.0 and even has the same core 70-536 exam but you have a choice of the following MCTS qualifications Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Workflow Foundation, Windows Forms, ASP.NET, and ADO.NET. The MCPD version offers you Web Developer, Windows Developer and Enterprise Applications Developer qualifications as with .NET 2.0. I'm currently studying for the 70-536 exam and ultimately intend doing one of the .NET 3.5 exams. You can locate a test centre here . In the UK it costs £88 + tax per exam, not sure of the cost in India. Regards Ashley

hi sir, first all you have to clear MCTS. for that two give MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0: Windows Applications (Exam 70-536 and Exam 70-526 and Exam 70-548: PRO: Designing and Developing Windows-Based Applications by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework or you can contact any prometric center in your city where u have to register yourself for the exam.Some NIIT centre also provide this facility. or u can go first for MCTS.
