Object Reference not set to an instance of an object

Question

My custom timer job keeps failing and throws the below error:"Object Reference not set to an instance of an object"...Any idea what could be the issue ?

Hi Tapan, I check your code what you have sent yesterday so the problem is related to in your code ,you are using SPContext.Current.Site.ID and SPContext.Current.Web.ID. You can't SPContext.Current in timer jobs - timer jobs don't run within a HTTP context, so these values aren't initialised. To get a web or site, you'll need to store the site and URL or ID somewhere that the timer job can retrieve. Thanks, RAJKIRAN Please accept this answer if you are ok with this.

Hi, This error is occured when you have bind any from database or hardcoded but due to some error your list in not bind inproper way and you go to view or html or cshtml page extract the data from this list. Then this error occurs. I hope it will help you if you dont understand then share your code.

Hi Tapan Mallick, you forgot to do null check, any object before access its required to do null check and identity why that object is null and check its required to be null / not null in your requirement

One of the object is getting null. Could you please post your code, so that we can tell which object is causing this?
