1. Can I call Private Method inside Action Method in MVC ? 2. Can I use static classes for methods that will do common tasks and would be called throughout MVC Action Method ? 3. what is the use of edmx file in mvc.

1.yes you can call private method inside ActionResult , we all call Business layer method in Action method though they are public but it doesn't matter when you are on same file then you can call private methods too. 2. Yes , it is even better , if a class is not going to change per object means one object through out the app then sure create a static class and use it anywhere in the app. 3.Edmx has nothing to do with MVC/Web form or anyother it is Entity Framework thing entity framework generates context class and domain entities based on EDMX file (Entity data model file). if you want to dive deep into edmx then visit https://www.sharpencode.com/article/EntityFramework/database-first-approach/deep-dive-into-edmx

1. Can I call Private Method inside Action Method in MVC ? - Yes it is obsolutely possible if the actions and private methods are under same class scope. However, you can't use the private method of another classes. 2. Can I use static classes for methods that will do common tasks and would be called throughout MVC Action Method ? - Yes you can. It is recommended to use common methods through shared/static classes and can use across multiple libraries or projects. 3. what is the use of edmx file in mvc. - Yes, however edmx entityframework database first approach, which can be used to any platfrom mvc/webforms or desktop application. Edmx is simple a kind of ORM for database operations and communications.
