MS SQL 2005 or MS SQL 2008 ?

Going to try and down load this POS again... Initially I went with SQL 2005 because I was using C# 2005, and it just felt right.  So now, with all my problems with SQL 2005 I am considering going with the 2008 version. 

Opinions ?  How stable is 2008 ??  I generally shy away from new releases due to all the bugs.  What has been the experiences here with SQL 2008?
