Just need some great feedback on my career

Question

I'm looking at some general feedback. I'm 44 year old and I have been programing in C# for a round a year. In my prevouis role I have done varouis task in maintenaing several legacy application. Now I'm finding myself at a struggle with C# and MVC in working in some project, maybe because of my lack of knowldge. Due to my age and trying to compete with programmer half of my age, I believe I should keep learning C# and also focus on .net core and maybe get an Azure certification... And on top get myself very familiar with a java script framework. I'm dedicated to do very good in a few year and be the best, i just feel because of my age and my past experiance I sometime I want to quit... Need some feedback on where I should focus my plan...

If you really want to continue your career as a software engineer, then don't mind about your age because that will just let you down. Instead focus on your growth. Remember that technologies is a constant change, so everyone can cope up with what's trending and hit right now. Learning something is just a matter of interest and passion. If I were on your shoes, I would start making that first step and that is to find the sets of technolgies that interests you. Since you have a background on C# and .NET in general then I would recommend you to start at the basics first and learn one step at time. Always remember that experience matters most than getting a certification. So just code and code and code and get more experience in area that you are interested and you feel that you can grow. If you are coming from a Windows development background and wanted to venture on the world of web using ASP.NET, then I would recommend you to start ASP.NET Core with Razor pages. Don't jump directly on MVC because it might overwhelms you how things works. Once you get the grasp on how the stuff works in the stateless world, then feel free to start on MVC or SPA frameworks. Keep in mind that web development involves alot of technologies, so you may also need to learn REST APIs, Databases, ORMs, Web Servers, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS and HTML. Hello Yves Guyon Sir If you have interset in programming and want to learn and Age is just a Number.Just start learning these Technologies and work on your Weak points in programming It good if you learn Core and Azure I sugggest your sir dont think about age or anything try to focus to learn the conceps of programming All the Best
