Is it possible to convert SQL login to Windows Login

Hi, I have Existing database which has a sql login. My requirement is to convert SQL login to Windows login. Due to some reason we don't have a Source code it is whiped out but sql login is still running.There is any chance from SQL end that I can convert SQL login to Windows Login. If you have a workaround or any kind of help is really appreciated.

you can try this https://www.vb-decompiler.org/ to decompile and modify the code and recompile the exe back again. i personally never tried this. you can try this to see if it works for you.

Windows Application written in visual BASIC 6 SQL Server user id and password are hard coded inside the application Connection string to server and database is read from .ini file.

If my understanding correct, you have some application running in the system (but you dont have source code) which connects to sql database with sql login. now, you want that to change it to windows login. can you provide more details for my following questions. what kind of application you have (Windows App, Web App). What language it is written? the sql authentication (user id and password) is hard coded inside the application or is it reading from some config file? Share more details of what you have and i will see if i can help you to solve your issue.

No. you can not convert SQL login to Windows Login. you have to create a new windows login from sql server security and provide the permission to it.
