ignore extra column in model

hllo,

I am new to asp.net core, I was working in asp.net mvc before.

In mvc, I used to use [Ignore] attribute to use extra column, in which I dont have to add column in sql table, but I can bind that Ignore attribute field from sql procedure. Also it wont affect to any other procedure or functions

In asp.net core , is there any attribute like that ?

Yes you can create a class with all properties as specified in your SP select statement. ex:- if your SP returns name,salary then create a class having name,salary as property. public class EmployeeVM { public string name {get;set;} public double salary {get;set;} } then call the SP as var res = _context.Query () .FromSql( "EXECUTE dbo.SPName @Id=@id" , Id).FirstOrDefault();

You can use notmapped attribute public class YourEntity { public int Id { get; set; } [NotMapped] public string DeprecatedColumn { get; set; } }

hello sachin, any example how can i achieve that using viewmodel User table have PlanId column in it and I also have Plans table. so i need to show plan details of user I have created api - get user details using userid using user table, but i am not able to show plan name in it so i thought to create Planname as ignore attribute in User model, but not working

@Sushant, yes correct you are. Till now, i don't think EF Core team provides any such attribute where you can get benefit of both the world. Meaning, if the property shouldn't map to Sql Table column then it will also not map the vice-versa. so, you need an additional ViewModel type class to bind all the column from SP.

Hey, To ignore individual properties, use the [JsonIgnore] attribute.
