I am trying to populate Amount text field auto

Question

I have setup already "When i select the item the Rate populates automaticaly" Trying to Engineer? As ItemName and Rate is populated in if i enter the Quantity Manualy with Leave event of Quantity Text box it should pouplate the Amount of the item automaticaly i have write the code but its not happening i put the breakpoint its going to try { amountValue.Text = Convert.ToString(Convert.ToInt32(salePrice.Text) * Convert.ToInt32(qtyValue.Text)); } but after that its entering to catch(Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show("Error"); and giving me Error dialog box try please let me know if i am making any mistake.

Hi, I think it may be an empty string error. So please use the below code private void txtQuntity_Leave( object sender, EventArgs e) { try { decimal rate = Convert.ToDecimal(txtRate.Text== string .Empty? "0" :txtRate.Text); decimal quantity = Convert.ToDecimal(txtQuntity.Text == string .Empty ? "0" : txtQuntity.Text); txtAmount.Text = Convert.ToString(rate * quantity); } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message); } } And also call the same leave event for Rate and Quantity text boxes.

Hi Tayyab, Please use below code to check string is null or not becasue you are doing conversion from string to int so its alwasy good to check is null or not else it will throw exception. try { amountValue.Text = Convert.ToString(Convert.ToInt32( string .IsNullOrEmpty(salePrice.Text) ?
