How to use IQueryable in WPF

Question

I am trying to create a IQueryable in WPF
so I can filter the it with querys

i could not realy find a good explanation on how to use IQueryable in wpf

this is what i tryed:
i would like to put "Namelist" in a Iqueryable and maybe filter all names that start with the letter "J" or something

private void IqueryableButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)

{

string[] names = { "jack", "eric", "micheal", "dwayne", "jade" };

List<string> NameList = new List<string>(names);

IQueryable<Products> products = NameList.

// i have no idea what i am suppose to do

}

Your Button_Click event is not going to return anything then what's the point to convert it into iQueryable , If you really need a method which returns IQueryable then convert it into AsQueryable var query = Products.AsQueryable().Where(predicate); you just need a where predicate , you do not need a method. var product= products .Where(x=> x.StartsWith( "j" ));

Hello Osyris, Its not required to use IQueryable, you can complete your rask with two lines of code so all you need to filter using names variable thats it, avoid increasing of LOC(lines of code). string [] names = { "jack" , "eric" , "micheal" , "dwayne" , "jade" }; var filteredNames = names.Where(name => name.StartsWith( "j" ));

Hi, You can assign your string array to list or you can direct query your string array. string searchTerm = "j" ; string [] names = { "jack" , "eric" , "micheal" , "dwayne" , "jade" }; var result = names.Where(x => x.StartsWith(searchTerm)); OR string searchTerm = "j" ; string [] names = { "jack" , "eric" , "micheal" , "dwayne" , "jade" }; List string > NameList = new List string >(); NameList.AddRange(names); var result = NameList.Where(x => x.StartsWith(searchTerm));
