How to search % and [ values from table

Question

Hello; I have table with data. One column(eg. productName) contains % and [ . How can I find specific % and [ records using like operator in MSSQL. Thanks in advance.

Dear Mr Manav; Again, you are not reading my answer properly. I said in my answer that I have got the result for [. (like '%[[]%') There is no need to give me proof for this, You are already right by your first answer. Just need to make correction in first answer. This kind of "[" may not used by anyone , im surprised that you are using this kind of symbols in your table , whaever it is , it's upto you It is not necessary. If there is product description for product then there might be possibility(I'm not saying mandatorily because you can encode it and then decode it also) for this kind of "[","@","%","~","#","^", etc Note: Please read the people's question carefully and try to understand it, then give the answer. I think this question need to post in Interview Question section, but I post it here :P Thanks and I have got my answer :)

Dear Manav; Thanks for the answer. But still you are not reading the qustion properly.Second one is starting square bracket, which gives error in your answer while testing. Though, i have found the answer by query.Like '%[[]%'. Thanks for your quick response.

Hello First of all : This kind of "[" may not used by anyone , im surprised that you are using this kind of symbols in your table , whaever it is , it's upto you Brother i have tried and also executed and got output also for "[" character : create table Temp ( name nvarchar(25) ) insert into Temp values( 'mana[v' ); insert into Temp values( 'ma%av' ); insert into Temp values( 'manav' ); insert into Temp values( 'ma[nav' ); insert into Temp values( 'manav' ); select * from Temp where name like '%[%]%' select * from Temp where name like '%[[]%' Output : For first query : ma%av For second query output : mana[v ma[nav Proof that im actually got desired output : I hope now you got my point :) Note : its not best practice to use such kind of things in table column , at last it depends on your level of knowledge that how you manage such things Thanks
