How to restrict user in Ssh file transfer in windows 2016

Question

Hi Friends,

I am changing path to some other folder in sshd. Config file in ProgramData. But by default it is listing c drive specific user list.It showing all the c drive files.

How to give Sftp user access to E drive folder for files transfer. How to create sftp credentials?

Hi Prasanna Configure SSH server: Locate the sshd_config file in the SSH server's installation directory (e.g., ProgramData\ssh ). Open the sshd_config file with a text editor. Find the Subsystem sftp line and add or modify it as follows: Subsystem sftp internal-sftp -d /path/to/E/drive/folder Replace /path/to/E/drive/folder with the actual path to the folder on the E drive that you want to grant SFTP access to. Save the sshd_config file. Create SFTP user account: Open the command prompt or PowerShell with administrative privileges. Execute the following command to create a new user account: net user sftpuser sftppassword /add Replace sftpuser with the desired username and sftppassword with the desired password for the SFTP user. Grant permissions to the E drive folder: Right-click on the folder on the E drive that you want to grant access to. Select "Properties" and go to the "Security" tab. Click on the "Edit" button. Click on the "Add" button and enter the SFTP username (e.g., sftpuser ). Click "Check Names" to validate the username and then click "OK". Grant appropriate permissions to the user for the folder (e.g., "Read" or "Read & Write" depending on your requirements). Click "OK" to save the changes. Restart the SSH service: Open the Services management console. Locate the SSH server service (e.g., OpenSSH SSH Server). Restart the SSH server service to apply the configuration changes.
