Question

how to pass two textboxs value to reportviewer in c# using winforms.
like this;
when I press the generate button ,the textbox value will pass to the report viewer and show me the record in the report viewer.

Hello Zain, Actually what we are doing is pass a value to RDLC report. It is something work like pass parameter to a function. So we have to define parameters in RDLC file and then send values to these parameter manually. You can pass value of combobox to textbox of RDLC report. You can pass the value through parameters. 1. Open Report in design view. 2. Open "Report Data" panel from menu- View>Report Data 3. Now you can see parameters there . 4. Add parameter by right click for example you add parameter "Txtbox1". 5. Now right click on textbox in rdlc report and then a dilaog box will appear. click "Expression..." in dialog box. In "Expression " you define the expression by which the value will come to textbox. So here we will define that the value in text box will come from a parameter. 6. A form will open where you can see expression.You can see list of categories at bottom of form. Select "Parameter" field from list. A list of parameter will be shown. Select parameter "Txtbox1". By above process you set parameter to your text box. Here in your case you have to define two parameters in RDLC file. For example you create two parameters param1 and param2. Now Take two text box in RDLC design. Right click on first textbox and click on Expression. A dilog box wii apper after it. Select parameters in that dilog box. It will show the list of parameters. Since you did create two parameters. Here those parameters will visible ie param1 and param2. Now select param1 and save it. Same process for assign expression to textbox 2. And it is done. Now you have to pass parameter to report by c# code or vb whatever u r using. Let you have two text boxes in your application ie Textbox1 and Textbox 2. So plan is this- we will pass the value of text box to the parameters of RDLC and these parameters will shown in textbox of RDLC Report. ReportParameter[] param = new ReportParameter[1]; param[0] = new ReportParameter("param1", Textbox1); param[0] = new ReportParameter("param2", Textbox2); reportViewer1.LocalReport.SetParameters(param); this.reportViewer1.RefreshReport(); I have a suggestion for you. Just create a test application and try this on it. And apply it to your application after that. Hope you will understand.Gud luck,
