As you created FKey, it would have some sys defined name, so this is what you can do. sp_rename 'schema.ExistingForeignkeyConstraintName' , 'newNameOfConstraints' ,N 'OBJECT'

If you are creating table, then use below sql CREATE TABLE Orders ( OrderID int NOT NULL , OrderNumber int NOT NULL , PersonID int , PRIMARY KEY (OrderID), CONSTRAINT FK_PersonOrder FOREIGN KEY (PersonID) REFERENCES Persons(PersonID) ); If you want to add foreign key in your existing table, then use below sql. ALTER TABLE Orders ADD FOREIGN KEY (PersonID) REFERENCES Persons(PersonID); OR If you want to give name to your foreign key, then use below sql. ALTER TABLE Orders ADD CONSTRAINT FK_PersonOrder FOREIGN KEY (PersonID) REFERENCES Persons(PersonID);
