how to make setup

Question

hi sir this is vivek kumar i am looking for procedure to make a setup for my software i made one winforms application using c# and access as backend and now i want to make a setup for that so there will be no need to install visual studio to run it. i used access as a database and c# as a coding. now i want to know the procedure to make setup where that will ask for serial number while installing and how to make that serial key for every pc different? please provide me the full detail as i am new to this forum...

No Its is not compulsory that you use .net 3.5 to make setup . Setup and deployment options is there in .net 2.0 also and no problem to use MySql also but make sure when you make setup then include MySQl Server Setup also in Setup Project so user dont need to find it on net :) Here is Video How to Do it Just See the Video its About 15 mins and you will learn how to create setup ;) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/cc178521.aspx

hi kirtan, m using C# and MYsql database for my windows forms...i creted all and using Connection string like "local host username password " smthng similr in th web application....is this d rigt way??? second is.....3.5 framework is must..so can we add this to d set up file...?

Friend ,Here is Simple Steps For Simple Setup if my answer helps you then please check "Do you like this answer check box " :) Step 1 ======== Step 2 ---------- Step 3 --------- Step 4 : Add Files to Application Folder that you want to Include in Setup Configure the Setup more By Right Clicking Setup Project In Solution Explorer . Create a setup project for the windows forms application, and then configure. This is a walkthrough in c sharp corner site: http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/rahul4_saxena/Setup08232007071849AM/Setup.aspx Please keep in mind, you should configure the prerequistes of your application when configuring the setup project, since not all operating systems have all the prerequistes of your windows forms applications setup. For example, .NET Framework 3.5 sp1.... Let me know if you have any further problem.
